Use spatial data and media attachments from Cadenza Desktop on your mobile device too – for smartphones and tablets. And best of all: even when there’s no internet connection (offline), you still have your data with you and can add to them and edit them while on the go.
Export data from Cadenza Desktop in three steps
- Choice of map section as mobile working area in Cadenza Desktop.
- Export of the map section with all connected media and transfer via the mobile server (2a) or USB cable (2b) to the mobile device.
- Offline use of the mobile map and collection of new information on the tablet or smartphone with subsequent transfer of the changes back to Cadenza Desktop.
The Cadenza Mobile GIS app
Cadenza Mobile’s graphical user interface automatically adjusts to fit the display size of your mobile end device (responsive design). The user guidance is so flexible that all functions can be intuitively operated with your thumb. When collecting geometry, it is possible to switch between processing the geometry and attribute data at any time. When exporting data, it is defined whether the maps should be transmitted to the mobile device as grid data or as vector data.
If vector data are exported, the export of the geometries and attribute data is carried out in an SQLite/SpatiaLite database. A so-called Styled Layer Description (SLD) is generated for the map signature. As the app renders vector layers directly in the display resolution, the mobile map image is even clearer than on a desktop screen.
With SpatiaLite, the Cadenza Mobile app contains a database with full SQL and GeoSQL capabilities. Exported vector layers are saved in the SQLite/SpatiaLite database and can therefore also be used offline by the app. This technology opens up a wide range of new opportunities, for example specialist applications.
Take your own maps with you when travelling
In the mobile specialist map you can zoom around and move in the map sections, jump to your current location thanks to the GPS function, use the compass function, calculate direction and distance to a destination, move ‘slide bars’ with your thumb to show and hide layers and also request attribute data, documents and media data on objects.
Create notes and save photos while on the go
With the graphic notebook you can draw dots, lines and areas on the map and add texts, photos and also audio or video recordings to them. All functions of the graphical notebook are also available to use when offline.
When back at your desktop workplace again you can import the notes and media you collected when travelling to your desktop GIS. During this process the notes are converted into Shapefiles.
Maintain data during field work
Cadenza Mobile offers even more: in Cadenza Desktop you can configure map layers as specialist land registries. After exporting, this enables simple spatial objects to be structurally collected and maintained with specialist validators and key lists – also offline.
