Work with excellent quality of life

A workplace is much more than simply a desk in an office – it is also a living space in which you also spend a great deal of your time. We occupy the top (and most beautiful) floors of the Park Plaza offices alongside the city park in the IT capital of Karlsruhe in the Ludwig-Erhard-Allee. This is where we have created a work environment to take account of this concept.

Versatile, charming and full of surprises: Karlsruhe has a lot to offer

The IT region of Karlsruhe is the third largest IT cluster in Europe and, not least since the e-mail success story began here, is widely considered to be the birthplace of forward-looking innovation. This is reflected in the design of our office spaces. A spontaneous discussion standing at a high table or a larger meeting in a conference room? “Hatching an egg” together in the incubator rooms or staying focused at a desk? Taking a breather on the rooftop terrace with a mug of – really very excellent – coffee in your hand while looking out over the whole of Karlsruhe or a quick game of table soccer to get your mind off things? The ingenious, unusual architecture of our office rooms creates suspense and works well with the different everyday working requirements. An open, transparent office landscape with lots of glass prevents every imaginative train of thought from crashing against the next wall.

In the city and yet still in nature

Karlsruhe has got a lot to offer when it comes to quality of life. We specifically chose our location to make the best of both worlds: Our office is well connected with the city center and its many shopping and lunch opportunities within walking distance – yet it is still surrounded by nature and greenery. From our rooftop terrace we have a glorious view all year round, and we aren’t promising too much when we say: The sunrises and sunsets are spectacular!

Getting around in Karlsruhe: JobRad and JobTicket

If you prefer the more environmentally friendly ways of getting around, you will find the best opportunities here. The local public transport network in Karlsruhe is exceptionally well developed. There is a streetcar stop right in front of the door and our employees pay less for traveling using the Disy-Job Ticket.

Karlsruhe and the surrounding area is also ideal for fans of cycling. The bicycle network is well structured, and a large number of sunny days here provide the best conditions for arriving at work in a good mood on your bike. You don’t have a good bicycle for the everyday commute? No problem! With the Disy JobRad program you can simply purchase the cycle of your choice through Disy, making use of the tax-efficient salary conversion.

By the way: Your bike is guaranteed to be safe in the in-house lockable bicycle cellar. And if you work up a sweat during your healthy cycle to work, you can simply take a quick shower in the office. If a car is needed now and again, there are various stops for Stadtmobil nearby, Karlsruhe’s car-sharing solution which can be used through Disy (one of the parking slots is right in front of the house). Anyone arriving in their own car can park it directly in the in-house underground car park.

Housing and living in Karlsruhe

Karlsruhe is becoming increasingly attractive as focus of work and life. So, it might be difficult sometimes to find an apartment. In addition to the usual platforms, Karlsruhe also offers various housing associations and cooperatives, who are worth taking a look at.

In addition, Karlsruhe has a very good infrastructure when it comes to schools and childcare. An overview of the childcare possibilities from nurseries for the youngest to after school care centers as well as additional information is available on Karlsruhe’s city website.

Sport, culture, subculture and leisure time

Staying fit after work: In addition to the company’s own sports portfolio, Karlsruhe offers many other opportunities to stay fit, for example there is the police sports association, the Polizeisportverein, and whether it’s dance, martial arts, climbing or rowing that you’re looking for, Karlsruhe has the right leisure activity for everyone. As well as that, the region is perfect for cycle trips.

Do you fancy getting a beer after work or at the weekend or watching your favorite band? There’s always something on offer in Karlsruhe. For example in summer we recommend the open-air cinema at the Gottesaue Palace, which is within walking distance from the office. There are also lots of cultural events at the Baden State Theater or at ZKM, the Center for Art and Media. Anyone who likes music will enjoy the many (classical) concerts at the Konzerthaus at the Congress Center or on the premises of the old slaughterhouse at popular locations such as Tollhaus, Substage or  Alten Hackerei There is also a colorful nightlife with pubs and clubs in the city center which have something to offer for every taste.
